These dates are the City of Ottawa's. Every Ontario municipality sets its own election sign by-law, so a campaign outside Ottawa must confirm its dates with its own municipal clerk. A municipal campaign is a print-heavy operation compressed into a short season. These are the pieces, roughly in the order a campaign needs them.

We have produced signs, door hangers and volunteer apparel for mayoral and city-council campaigns. What that means in practice is that we do not need the season explained to us: we know the sign order is front-loaded, that requests climb once canvassing starts, that a share of signs will not survive to voting day, and that a reorder in the last fortnight is a normal event rather than an emergency.
It also means we keep your artwork and specifications on file, so a second batch matches the first exactly — same red, same stake, same everything. On a street full of signs, a batch that does not match is visible from the road.
Campaign artwork rarely arrives print-ready. It is usually a volunteer's export, a screenshot of a logo, or a file sized for social media being asked to work at 24 by 18 inches. Every order is reviewed by a human designer before it goes to press. A person checks artwork resolution, colour, sizing and placement, and either fixes the file or tells the customer what is wrong — it is not an automated preflight.

Do you print election signs for municipal campaigns in Ottawa?

When can election signs go up in Ottawa for the 2026 municipal election?
Voting day is Monday, October 26, 2026. Under the City of Ottawa's by-laws, election signs may go on private property from Friday, September 11, 2026 — 45 days before voting day — and on City road allowances from Saturday, September 26, 2026, which is 30 days before. Every sign has to come down within 72 hours after voting day, so by Thursday, October 29, 2026. These dates are the City of Ottawa's. How long does it take to get campaign signs printed?
Standard production is 2 to 5 business days after you approve the mockup and pay, plus shipping time if you are outside the Ottawa-Gatineau area. The practical consequence for a campaign is that signs have to be printed before the date they are legally allowed to go up, not on it. If you are working to a hard date, tell us the date rather than the quantity first, and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
What do campaign lawn signs cost?
It depends on size, quantity, whether they are single or double-sided, and whether you need stakes or H-frames. Coroplast signs get substantially cheaper per unit as the run grows, which is why ordering the full quantity at once beats three smaller reorders. Send your size, quantity and artwork and we will quote it exactly — the quote and the mockup are both free.
Can you help if our campaign logo file is not print-ready?
That is normal, and it is included. Every order is reviewed by a human designer before it goes to press — a real person checks resolution, colours, sizing and placement, and either fixes the file or tells you exactly what is wrong. Campaign artwork often arrives as a screenshot or a low-resolution export from a volunteer's laptop, and we redraw it as vector art so it stays sharp at sign size.
Do you print for any party or candidate?
We are a print shop, not a political organization. We produce materials for any registered candidate or campaign regardless of affiliation, we do not endorse anyone, and we keep campaign artwork confidential between campaigns.
Are the sign rules the same everywhere in Ontario?
No, and this is the single most common mistake we see. Election sign by-laws are set municipality by municipality — placement dates, setbacks from intersections, what is allowed on a road allowance and the removal deadline all differ between Ottawa, Toronto, Mississauga, Gatineau and everywhere else. The dates on this page are Ottawa's. Confirm your own municipality's rules with its clerk before you place a single sign. We print what you approve, and we are not able to give legal advice.
Can we reorder more signs partway through the campaign?
Yes, and most campaigns do — sign requests climb once canvassing starts, and some signs are lost to weather or go missing. We keep your artwork and specifications on file so a reorder skips setup and matches the first batch exactly. Build an attrition allowance into the first order anyway; it is cheaper per sign than a rush reorder in the last fortnight.
